Specific attributes

1.	Determined	Being determined is a valued thing as it shows you see the job through and dont just give up.

Specific Attirbute – Technical Computer Knowledge

 

Employers valure technical computer knowledge as it is a very useful attribute to have in a workplace with regards to fixing a particular problem that the current user may be having with software, in this instance the person will be able to fix the problem or find another way that the user will be able to do the job that they need to do, even if this includes installing new software or doing a system reboot, the reboot of course has the risk of losing the work that was currently being done. The hardware knowledge will be useful also if say a computer needs a new part fitted or it needs a wire to be put into place then the hardware will be greatly appreciated.

 

The knowledge of software will be particularly useful when loading the “talking books” onto a CD as you will need to be familiar with the software that is used and you need to be able to explain how to use the CD software to play the CD. You will also need to be able to communicate through e-mail and other forms. The hardware knowledge will also be very useful when it comes to actually recording the books as you will need to know which tool will be the best for the job, whether it includes a voice recorder or a microphone.

 

General Attribute - Teamworking skills

The process of working  productively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal.

Working in a team is crucial for an employee as it shows that you are able to utilise other peoples skills and then merge them with yours to enable everyone to geth the job done faster and more efficiently. Teamworking is highly valued by employers as it shows that you work well with other people and that you have developed your communication skills which will enable you to work many different people, some which you may know and some that will be new but because you have teamworking skills you are able to adjust and adapt to the different skills that the different people possess and you must then be able to use these skills to your advantage.

Also you need to be able to work in a team because you must be willing to take feedback and possible criticism from the people that you are working with when making the CD's or even the people that are having the CD's delivered to them.


Personal Attitude - Determined

Not willing to let anything prevent you from doing what you have decided to do

People rely on you to fix the problems that they will be having with the CD's and the people that you are delivering the CD's to and also your co-workers will be expecting you to give any problem that you are having as much effort as you can and also they expect you to not give up as soon as you find a problem that you cannot fix straight away and they expect you to work through the problem.

The determined attitude is particularly useful with this scenario because if you are not determined then you could feel as though you are letting down the people that are using the CD's but if you are determined and do all that you can but still cannot fix the problem then you will feel much better and know that you did your best to help.


Personal Attitude - Problem Solving

The process of working through details of a problem to reach a solution. Problem solving may include mathematical or systematicoperations and can be a gauge of an individual's critical thinking skills.
People will be expecting you to solve many problems such as when the CD breaks or even if a computer breaks. If you have a "problem solving" attitude then you will use all of your skills and resources to solve the problem and you do so by also using people as a resource and find out their knowledge and see if they can help you with your problem.

Problem solving is also a very useful attitude to have because you will be able to feel much better about yourself because you are helping someone and you will also have a feeling of accomplishment in knowing that you did something to help a person in need.
